I've begun using more and more Japanese in class as my knowledge of it has improved, but the teacher before me had a policy of never explainng himself in Japanese. (Which I think meant the teachers ended up translating a lot in practice).

So the kids would sometimes freak out a bit when I slipped into their language. I BROKE THE RULES.
